When you are determined to do something, you never let anything stop you. Obstacles are there to be overcome, and that is what Tovaya has been doing her whole life. Who is she? Born in a small town in Pennsylvania called Chambersburg, it was very clear that she wouldn’t be a small town girl. Growing was complicated. On the one hand she had a mother that cared for her, took care of her and her sisters, always made sure their home was nice and comfortable. Her mother is where she gets her good taste from as a homemaker. But on the other hand, Tovaya had a flair for being very independent. So she was in trouble on a regular basis. From age 10 to 18 she spent time in and out of foster care. Although her family is very large, they are not very close, another reason for Tovaya’s independence. Early in high school, she played various sports, but it was around this time that modeling first came up as a possible career choice. Like most, Tyra Banks was someone she admired, remembering her appearance on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air television show. But she also greatly respected actress Angela Basset, her longevity in the business along with keeping herself in great shape over the years. To date, a huge accomplishment for Tovaya is working with photographer Heather Hunter. It was a great experience, and something she looks to build on over the next few months. Over the next 5 years she looks to achieve several goals within the modeling industry. Also, she plans on creating a business of her own. One of the things that makes Tovaya so interesting is her love of traveling. She has traveled all over the United States but also Jamaica, Turks and Caicos Islands, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico and more. Modeling will give her additional chances to travel. When not traveling, she is cooking, which is a sincere hobby for her.
