Ashanti is not treating her career as “foolish”

Ashanti was born and raised in the city of Macon, Ga. She experienced a very happy childhood, was never in any trouble and always kept busy in activities after school. Living in a small city, it’s easier to stay connected with your family.

This was true for Ashanti, who had a small family, mostly women. When Ashanti reached middle school, she attended her first casting call. She modeled her own clothes for the local fashion show. Ashanti also participated in pageants, which she won. This got her comfortable being in front of people and she enjoyed it. As someone new to modeling, she researches and learns from many different people in the industry. So many different women inspire her, she doesn’t focus on just one.

Within the next five years Ashanti plans on pursuing several fields of science, which she is currently in college for. She also looks to secure a major film or modeling campaign. When not in school or at work, Ashanti manages her own dance team, which performs throughout the community. A very social woman, Ashanti spends times with friends going to the movies and eating at the popular spots in town, especially any that serve fish & grits.
